My First Minion!

I’ve been taking advantage of the weather lately and working on my computer outside. Now, this would be even more lovely if I wasn’t working on my dissertation/exegesis. I’m getting there, but it’s slow and tedious work to make sure I’m saying what I want to say.

My consolation today has been acquiring my first minion. I asked my niece if she would like to write my dissertation for me, and she dutifully said ‘yep’. Now, if only she could write. At least there’s knitting. I’ve had a new WIP sitting by me for most of the day. I’ve only managed to knit a few rows and I really want to be able to do more.

See I tend to get bright ideas in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep and it’s too late to do much about them, because doing much about them means getting up, charting the idea, pulling stash out and finding yarn. All of which is too noisy. So, first thing this morning yarn was pulled out and idea was charted. I can’t wait to see how this ends up. It isn’t often I get the chance to start on an idea straight away. Most of the time I don’t have the yarn I need and I end up having to wait for it to arrive and by then can I very well have lost my enthusiasm. Not this time. This time I have yarn, even if I had to frog an abandoned idea to get it.

  1. It’s important to get those minions early and get them into training programs to acquire the proper skills if your eventual world domination is going to succeed.
